Indicators for the Assessment of Theoretical Rigor

We provide a set of indicators for assessing theoretical rigor in psychological research. The indicators include criteria that we consider to be hygiene standards for the reporting and testing of theories in psychological research. In general, they are applicable to research that develops and/or evaluates a (part of a) theory. The indicators are part of the RESQUE framework of responsible research assessment (https://resque-framework.github.io/website/), and aim to incentivize theory-guided work in academic hiring and promotion.
