The present study evaluated the psychometric properties for the Need For Cognition Scale. To do this, a sample of 303 Peruvian adults was taken, and then a series of Confirmatory Factor Analyses were performed, including the one-, two-, and bifactor multi-trait-multi-method model. In addition, reliability and external validity were verified with the big five personality factors. The results found an adequate fit for the multi-trait-multi-method model, followed by an acceptable reliability for the construct, added to positive and significant correlations with conscientiousness and openness to experience, as well with a negative and significant relationship with neuroticism.
