This paper introduces "meliotropism" as a new concept within positive health sciences. Meliotropism is defined as an orientation toward meaningful, prosocial, and health-promoting action that benefits both the self and the broader community. Rooted in interdisciplinary theory spanning positive psychology, lifestyle medicine, coaching psychology, and humanistic psychotherapy, meliotropism represents a unifying concept for understanding how individuals can move toward flourishing. It also provides a practical framework for guiding ethical design in digital health tools such as purposeful Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven health coaching systems. This short concept paper marks the first published use of the term and lays the groundwork for its development in future theoretical, empirical, and applied research.
