Several scientific disciplines are currently amid a ‘replication crisis’ because of the unsuccessful replications of many seminal findings, resulting in questioning the credibility of those fields. Applying open science principles and practices has been suggested as one way to increase the credibility of scientific fields because the core of open science is to promote rigour, transparency, reproducibility, accessibility and inclusivity. Discussions concerning the ‘replication crisis’ and open science often concern the aspects related to scientific reasoning and psychological literacy such as critical thinking. This chapter uses Norway’s first interdisciplinary PhD-course in Open and Credible Science to showcase how to teach psychological literacy through the lens of open science.
