Abstract

Abstract:Consciousness unfolds not through static activation patterns, but through recursive timing across the body and brain. We propose the Probability Clock model, in which consciousness arises via phase stabilization across nested biological clocks — thalamocortical, hippocampal, cerebellar, and astrocytic. This model bridges systems neuroscience and phenomenology, explaining the continuity of the "Current Moment" through recursive temporal alignment. It provides a biologically grounded and testable framework for understanding consciousness as a temporally embodied process.
