Abstract

The purpose of this study is to report data on the Information sub-test of the Naylor-HarwoodAdult intelligence Scale. Adults (N=110) undergoing a vocational assessment had scores on theInformation test that ranged from a low of 4 to a maximum of 27 with a mean score of 14.6(SD=5.04, 95% CI [13.6,15.5]). The internal consistency reliability (Cronbach alpha) of theInformation sub-test is .85. Factors such as age or schooling, education, language background)had a moderate effect size on information. English-speaking background had a very largeeffect size. There were statistically significant relationships between information and (a)reading achievement, (b) a rapid assessment of intelligence and (c) with higher informationprocessing speed. Performance was (d) unrelated to scores on a memory malingering task. Anhypothesised model of some influences on general information is introduced.
