With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, ChatGPT has been widely developed for various purposes, among which AI chatting has become a new channel for users to seek emotional counseling and stress relief. However, in practical use, the phenomenon of "fire-fanning" has emerged - giving suggestions that intensify conflicts when users pour out their troubles, or outputting views that exacerbate opposition in discussions on controversial topics, which instead (increases) users' psychological burdens. Through analyzing a large number of real interaction cases, this study elaborates on the specific manifestations of the "fire-fanning" phenomenon in scenarios such as daily conversations and hot topic discussions, and deeply explores its causes, including the one-sidedness of training data and the difficulty of algorithms in accurately understanding complex emotions. The study also points out that this phenomenon not only affects users' mental health and interferes with the effectiveness of emotional counseling but also has a negative impact on the application prospects of artificial intelligence in the field of stress relief. Aiming at these problems, the paper proposes a series of practical improvement strategies from the perspectives of optimizing data screening criteria, improving emotional recognition mechanisms, and adding manual review links, striving to make artificial intelligence better play the role of stress relief and truly become a reliable psychological support partner for users.
