Abstract

In recent years, due to the acceleration of the construction of high-rise buildings in most big cities, deep and semi-deep excavations are carried out in construction projects. Stabilization of the pit wall is one of the essentials of a project, which is also mentioned in the seventh topic of the national building regulations. In this research, the diaphragm wall system with anchorage has been studied and investigated in order to protect deep excavations of central building of Sadarat Ahvaz Bank in clay and sandy soils. The results of the analysis showed that the value of reliability coefficient of pit stability using a diaphragm wall and without anchors is suitable. This study shows that in terms of stability of digging and sliding, using a diaphragm wall without anchors is also sufficient. In addition, the use of anchors alone does not provide a suitable reliability factor for pit sliding stability. In case of simultaneous use of diaphragm wall and anchor, the reliability coefficient values are very suitable. The results of the numerical analysis also showed that in the model without walls and anchors, pit collapse occurred and the need to use a pit stabilization system is proven. In the model with a thick diaphragm wall system 80 cm, the collapse of the pit does not happen, and this method alone without the use of anchors is also effective.
