Abstract

This paper presents a structured approach to the implementation of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), focusing on its application within modern industrial environments. The methodology is based on the foundational principles defined by Nowlan and Heap and systematized by Moubray, addressing the identification of functions, failure modes, failure consequences, and appropriate maintenance tasks. The RCM process is analyzed in accordance with the criteria established in SAE JA1011 and aligned with the strategic principles of asset management defined in ISO 55000. The article further discusses the integration of RCM with digital tools and Industry 4.0 concepts, reinforcing its relevance in the context of maintenance digitalization. Practical implementation guidelines are provided, and the cultural and organizational changes necessary for successful adoption are emphasized.
