Abstract

This article provides an exploration of the positioning of the Data Protection Officer within the Three Lines Model in relation to achieving compliance with European Regulations. Acting as a critical review, it challenges conventional placements and evaluates the repercussions of alternative allocations. With a focus on understanding the intricate implications the different options for a placement, this investigation seeks to facilitate more informed decision-making for organizations aiming to harmonize data protection strategies with the Three Lines Model of risk management.
