Abstract

*Updated May 29, 2025: References [3, 5–8, 10] in this version (v2.1) were incorrect. See corrected references and an expanded model with 10 experiments, including biophotonics and neuropeptide signaling, in Pending v2.3 (DOI:10.31234/osf.io/uhj97_v2) or contact akoski.cqfh@gmail.com for details. The Conscious Quantum Field Hypothesis (CQFH) v2.1 proposes a theoretical model of fundamental consciousness as a quantized scalar field C(x, t), driven by ∼ 40 Hz microtubulecoherence in neurons. Modulated by 0.1–10 Hz neural electromagnetic (EM) fields, ∼ 4–8 Hztheta oscillations via vagus nerve signaling influenced by gut microbial short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs), and ∼ 1–4 Hz delta synchrony, the field persists for ∼ 0.0001 s, shielded by actin andstructured water. Governed by a Lagrangian with field mass mC = 1.656 × 10−13 eV and coupling constants g ≈ 10−10, λ ≈ 10−14, η ≈ 10−11, and κ ≈ 10−12, C(x, t) fosters entanglement(S_collective) and integrated information (Φ) to bridge quantum and classical neural activity. Five2025–2026 experiments test this model: 1) THz spectroscopy on microtubule coherence, 2) EEGcorrelations (0.1–10 Hz to ∼ 40 Hz), 3) EEG power shifts (2–5 μV at ∼ 40 Hz), 4) fMRI onthalamocortical/hippocampal activity, 5) Cross-subject EEG synchrony (phase-locking > 0.7).Supported by findings on microtubule coherence, vagal synchronization, and neural dynamics [1, 2, 3], CQFH v2.1 offers a testable bio-quantum framework, with speculative extensions deferred to future work. Keywords: Quantum consciousness, microtubules, neural synchrony, vagus nerve, gut-brain axis, shared reality, electromagnetic fields, quantum biology.
