This study explores the connection between string theory and the quest for a "Theory of Everything" (TOE), with a particular focus on the contributions of physicist Chen-Ning Yang and other key figures. String theory has emerged as a leading candidate for a unified description of the fundamental forces of nature, integrating gravity with quantum interactions. Through a review of theoretical developments, this paper discusses how advances in mathematical physics, especially in the formulation of Yang-Mills symmetries and groups, have influenced the evolution of string theory. The analysis also considers the philosophical and scientific implications of the TOE search, its challenges, and future perspectives.
