Africans have been deeply rooted in religion and theology since the beginning of time. In an effort to express the theological viewpoints and experiences of African peoples, a number of scholars have contributed to the development of African theologies as a separate field over time. Numerous academics have influenced the topic, each contributing their own viewpoint and perspective. This paper, therefore, seeks to present a comparative analysis of the diverse conceptualisations of African theologies, emphasising their subtleties and complexity while exploring the varied perspectives of leading scholars or academics in the area. In order to give a thorough and comparative analysis of the idea of African theologies, the paper adopts a biblical comparative design paradigm and explanatory model. The results demonstrate a more profound comprehension of African theologies vis-à-vis African Christian theology and African traditional theology. Keywords: african theologies, scholars’ standpoints, comparative review, african christian theology, african traditional theology.
