AbstractTraditional classifications of mental health pathology have relied on categorical diagnoses that often fail to capture the complexity and individuality of patient experiences. In this paper, we introduce a context-driven, data-centric framework for developing a new psychiatric nosology to address current needs. This framework integrates biological and behavioral markers and clinical data across multiple modalities of measurement, enabling nuanced mapping of traits and patterns among them. We propose that mental health should be understood as a continuous, heterogeneous, and context-sensitive phenomenon—one that resists reduction to discrete diagnostic labels. We outline five core principles of this model, emphasizing its clinical implications and potential to enhance—rather than replace—the human element in care.
