Abstract

The paper explores how well AI algorithms can fare with regards to intellectual virtues when compared to humans. That paper argues that If intellectual virtues are understood functionally as displaying behavior similar to human virtuous behavior, AI algorithms likely can exceed humans in unbiased perception and non-stereotypical thinking. Doing so would give them an edge over humans with regard to fairness. Humans likely will have a lasting edge with regards to other intellectual virtues like creativity and intellectual autonomy.
