Abstract

This paper presents a new hypothesis: Time is not an independent physical phenomenon but merely a tool used by consciousness to measure change. By re-examining relativity, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and consciousness studies, this paper argues that humanity has long confused time with the speed of light, leading to a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of time in science. Through mathematical reasoning, physical experiment analysis, and support from psychology and neuroscience, this paper attempts to demonstrate that consciousness is the true core element existing in four-dimensional spacetime, while time is merely a derivative of conscious experience. This perspective challenges the foundations of traditional relativity and physics, opening new directions for the study of the essence of time.
