he article explores the practices of moral and material support for editorial teams of scientific journals, focusing on their transition to open access and indexing in international scientometric databases. It highlights the critical role of university scientific journals in the global academic ecosystem and the challenges they face, including financial constraints and the need for high-quality content. The research examines international and Ukrainian experiences, presenting a comparative analysis of support mechanisms such as government subsidies, institutional grants, and publisher policies across regions including Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Special attention is given to sustainable publishing practices, funding strategies, and the impact of editorial motivation on the journals' internationalization and scientometric performance. The study integrates quantitative and qualitative data collected from various sources, including journal articles, monographs, and institutional documents, providing practical recommendations for harmonizing Ukrainian editorial practices with global standards.This work contributes to the understanding of effective models for supporting scientific publishing, crucial for fostering academic visibility and advancing open science.
