Recommendations for Improving the Problem Resolution System

During the winter of 2024 and 2025, 19 Massachusetts caregivers of children with an IEP who filed at least one compliant via PRS were interviewed. During the interview, participants were asked for their recommendations for improving the caregiver PRS experience. All interview transcripts were independently double coded to develop an initial set of recommendations, which were then emailed to participants for review and feedback. Recommendations were then revised. Lastly, the research team made additional suggestions for improving the PRS system, in consideration of our study limitations and the importance of considering the potential needs of all families.
