Abstract

Holographic telemedicine emerges as a promising solution to address two critical challenges faced by healthcare in Brazil: the shortage of doctors in regions far from major urban centers and the limited opportunities for medical training. The use of immersive technologies, such as virtual reality and holography, offers an innovative way to deliver high-quality medical care to hard-to-reach locations. This article discusses the key issues involved in implementing this technology, various modalities that can be used, technical aspects, necessary infrastructure, and the economic and logistical challenges for its adoption in the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). This is a narrative review study that has not yet been completed and is in the development analysis phase.
