Abstract

This study utilizes the SCAPS-1D to conduct a numerical simulation of lead-free solar cell device based on Cs 2 PtI 6 . We aim to explore the impact of eliminating hole transport materials (HTL) on the device's performance while ensuring high efficiency and stability. The investigated device structure includes FTO/CdS/Cs 2 PtI 6 with a back metal electrode, along with several performance variants. Our findings reveal that the HTL-free Cs 2 PtI 6 solar cell maintains a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.3% under solar illumination. Additionally, we perform parametric studies examining how variations in absorber layer thickness, doping density, and metal back contacts influence the solar cell's PCE.
