Between 2020 and 2025, during mosquito monitoring conducted in Bratislava we collected, in addition to native species, also three invasive species: Aedes japonicus japonicus , Aedes koreicus , and Aedes albopictus . Larvae of Ae. j. japonicus were collected continuously over five consecutive years, from 3 August 2020 to October 2025. Larvae of Ae. albopictus were recorded from May 2023 until late September 2025. In addition, both larvae and adults of Ae. j. japonicus were sampled throughout the 2020–2025 period, while Ae. koreicus and Ae. albopictus (larvae and adults) were collected between 2023 and 2025, respectively. Eggs, larvae and adults of invasive mosquito species were collected mainly in major Bratislava cemeteries. The repeated detection of larvae of Ae. j. japonicus , Ae. koreicus , and Ae. albopictus during both spring and autumn confirms that these invasive species are now established in Bratislava and, consequently, in Slovakia.
