Abstract

In a context marked by the rise in the cost of energy, digitalization and the need to decarbonize the economy, so as not to depend on external agents, companies are betting on a decarbonized industry model. More than 80% of the companies that have participated in the energy consumption study are working to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, mainly CO2. Companies plan to decarbonize and are already working on concrete plans to achieve it, but this study reveals that companies are unaware of the measures and procedures to improve energy efficiency, the importance and advantages and, for some companies, the regulatory obligation to incorporate renewable energy as a primary source, the differences and relationship between primary energy, transformation, final energy, consumption and useful energy, and how to compare and aggregate different fuels and sources of energy and their emissions.
