The scattering ratio of atomic vapor displays a critical parameter in the gadolinium isotope separation technology. A theoretical model based on the DSMC method is developed to describe the scattering characteristics of gadolinium under multi-stage beam-forming structure in this work. Firstly, two distinct non-uniform mesh designs are presented and they have achieved almost identical results. On the basis, the spatial distributions of atomic macroscopic parameters are simulated. Simultaneously, the influences of collection parameters on scattering ratio are researched and the mechanism of atomic scattering characteristic are analyzed. Ultimately, an optimized multi-stage beam-forming structure is proposed and good beam-forming effect is achieved theoretically. This work can provide a valuable reference for the design of gadolinium isotope separation systems.
