Abstract

Accurate estimation of Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) is a key factor in ensuring the performance of communication systems. Existing coarse CFO estimation techniques struggle to eliminate the Residual Carrier Frequency Offset (RCFO). To address the performance degradation caused by RCFO, this paper proposes a new channel estimation method based on RCFO elimination. The method innovatively utilizes the phase-frequency response characteristics of a deep analysis filter, applying a Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter. The FIR filter enhances the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) while leveraging its linear phase-frequency characteristics to estimate the residual CFO after preliminary frequency synchronization. The resulting phase error is compensated, leading to accurate channel estimation and improved signal detection performance. The experimental results show that at an SNR of -10 dB, the system’s BER is 10 − 4 , which is significantly lower than that of traditional methods. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in frequency offset suppression and highlights its significant theoretical value and potential for practical engineering applications.
