Software testing plays a vital role in the software development cycle, it ensures the software is reliable, error-free, and meets user expectations, hence improving the quality of software. Many methodologies have been introduced to structure the software testing process. This paper will focus on two of these methodologies while comparing manual and automation testing as the two common approaches of software testing while outlining limits and benefits of each one of them. A case study on the Sauce Demo platform was conducted covering functional modules such as login, homepage, product page, cart, checkout, and final page to assess the effectiveness of manual versus automation testing. while highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of both manual and automated testing based on the results from the SauceDemo platform case study. The evaluation metrices includes test coverage, execution time, effort required, test case productivity, and defect detection rate. The result of the case study indicates that manual testing is suitable for complex cases that needs human judgments, automation testing offers great benefits in terms of speed, effort, time, and accuracy which will support the testing process Powered
