Abstract

Background Occupational therapy practices are expanding in Turkey; however, rehabilitation professionals face a scarcity of validated Turkish-language assessment instruments. Consequently, the objective of the present study is to address this gap by validating the Turkish adaptation of the Child Occupational Self-Assessment (COSA) and evaluating its psychometric properties. Methods 101 children aged 7–11 with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were included in the study. Pearson analysis was used for criterion validity, principal component analysis (PCA) was used for construct validity, and Rash analysis was used to measure reliability. Results Pearson analysis found a moderately positive association scales (p = 0.00, r = 0.675). Variance was found to be high among COSA principal components (%70.17). Internal consistency was found to be quite high (0.86 and 0.77). Conclusions The Turkish COSA was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure the perceived and importance of children with ADHD in performing daily occupations.
