Abstract

A versatile and cost-effective strategy for the fabrication of Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence (MEF) platforms is presented. A gold nanocubes (AuNCs) monolayer, self-assembled at the water/hexane interface, was deposited onto a pre-formed amino-porphyrin thin film. The fluorescence enhancement of the dye was quantitatively evaluated and compared to a reference sample across multiple excitation wavelengths, revealing a strong correlation with the plasmonic properties of the AuNC layer. This approach offers a promising route for the development of high-performance and scalable MEF systems.
