Abstract

This research is aimed to conduct an analysis of supplier selection for diesel generators using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in order to identify and define the key criteria for selecting diesel generator suppliers, collect data from running generator in the community, apply AHP to evaluate and rank suppliers based on predefined criteria, analyze the results obtained from AHP technique and recommend the most suitable supplier selection based on the findings. The supplier selection process involves multiple conflicting criteria. Based on literature review and industry practices; the methodology for selecting a Diesel Generator using the Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) starts by setting a clear goal to buy a suitable Generator set. Next, four (4) top selling Diesel Generator options are identified as alternatives, and four key factors are chosen for evaluation. A pairwise comparison matrix is then developed to assess the relative importance of these features, and weights are calculated using the AHP technique. Finally, the weighted features are combined with the alternative options to determine the most suitable diesel generator set based on the calculated priorities.
