Drone Applications in Sustainability: A Comprehensive Bibliometrics Analysis of Trends and Future Directions

Drone applications emerge as innovative solutions for global sustainability challenges. However, a comprehensive exploration of trends and indicators in sustainability is lacking. Although research on drone applications for sustainability has increased, a global divide is still evident, like in authorship, collaborations, and publishing countries, which is detrimental to the attainment of global sustainability targets. This presents a novel opportunity for research and institutions to initiate collaborative partnerships and new perspectives on sustainability research in drone applications and emerging technologies, especially in the global south. Emerging researchers, especially from the global south, could be driving future research in the sustainability discourse.
