Efficient continuous wave ultraviolet Pr3+:YLF laser at 249.6 nm

Pr 3+ :YLF continuous wave(CW)cyan laser from 3 P 0 to 3 H 4 transition is first demonstrated at 499.2 nm. The 249.6 nm deep ultraviolet laser (DUV) is obtained with the method of efficient frequency doubling of a blue-diode-pumped Pr 3+ :YLF laser at 499.2 nm by Barium Borate (BBO) for the first time. With the incident pump power of 4.52 W by a fast axis collimating LD, TEM 00 deep ultraviolet laser at 249.6 nm is realized with the output power up to 113.4 mW. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on deep ultraviolet continuous wave Pr 3+ :YLF laser at 249.6 nm.
