Abstract

With the rapid growth of offshore oil and gas production along the Brazilian coast, more higher-capacity production platforms are being built to operate in deepwater. Consequently, this has led to a significant increase in the number of supply vessels used, which are often not used efficiently, leading to re-source waste. The need to reduce these costs has become a reality for offshore operators, especially smaller ones. Given this scenario, this work aims to as-sist planners in the design of offshore supply operations. To achieve this goal, Operations Research (OR) is used to create a system of linear equations that models the supply process. The algorithm solves this system using the Simplex method to minimize Operating Expenditures (OPEX) and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), yielding the minimum total cost. In addition, it presents the composition of the fleet, the periodic schedule of trips for each vessel, and the routes for each trip in order to achieve this cost value.
