The cyclic triaxial (mechanical) loading behavior of two sands from Germany is studied using a cyclic triaxial device. The cyclic test results include: cyclic loading tests at dry and drained condition (presented in this study in extended form, using data from previous publication) and cyclic loading tests at saturated and undrained condition (using new data from this study). The results of the experimental tests from the two cases are compared in view of the development of total and plastic strains (both axial and volumetric), as well as the generation of excess pore-water pressure in the soils.
