Abstract

In this work, a practical adsorption for removing Nickle and Lead has been developed by functionalized and modified HY zeolite that was magnetized by Fe 3 O 4 . The magnetization was conducted by co-precipitation technique and several methods were used for HY zeolite functionalization. The adsorbent was characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherm (BET), UV-VIS analysis, Vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The research results attributed that magnetic zeolite adsorbent has been successfully produced. The results shows that magnetization and functionalization increase the adsorption capacity.
