Abstract

With high-speed growth of the Chinese economy, environmental issues are becoming increasingly prominent, and green innovation has become the key to solving environmental pollution and achieving sustainable development. This study scrutinizes whether digitalization promotes the quality of green innovation with Chinese A-share listed manufacturing enterprises. The results reveal that digitalization is positively associated with green innovation quality, and the female ratio of top management team negatively moderates the focal relationship, while government subsidies positively moderate the relationship, and R&D investment plays a mediating role. Our findings shed insight into enhancing green innovation quality in the digital era.
