Abstract

Modern computing has been revolutionized by software defined networking, which offers scalable, adaptable, and on-demand resources. However, issues like server overloads, energy usage, and unpredictable requests make effective resource management a significant challenge. This paper presents the predictive server resource management algorithm (PSRMA). This novel solution is based on calculating the relative difference of flows at regular interval of time to specify a synchronization period for controllers to direct traffic towards the least loaded server. an adaptable synchronization period between uses the relative difference. The algorithm was rigorously tested in a simulated software defined network environment that demonstrated a significant enhancement regarding overall system stability.
