Recently, there is a growing interest in wind turbine-generated electrical energy as a promising renewable energy source.Due to their outstanding performance quality, induction or asynchronous generators are currently regarded as one of the best electrical machine types that can work with wind turbines. Considering the aforementioned aspects, the purpose of this study is to improve the performance of a doubly fed induction generator driven by a wind turbine through researching its modeling and simulation. in order to accomplish this, aim a theoretical study for Doubly Fed Induction Generator has been achieved, in addition to using Matlab/Simulink environment for making mathematical and computerized model for Doubly Fed Induction Generator. Theoretical study has included a brief explanation of principles of operation for the Doubly Fed Induction Generator, in addition to its operation mode, while Matlab/Simulink environment has been used to build Mathematical and computerized model. Depending on Mathematical and computerized model, simulation has been done. According to the simulation results, it is obviously that we can regulate the reactive power by regulating the DC Link Voltage.
