This study analyzes how increased social support at the household/individual level affects donation behavior in the Türkiye sample and contributes to the literature by evaluating social choice effectiveness, which contradicts the traditional economic doctrine, with new variables. We used TurkStat microdata and the Heckman model for estimations. The findings showed that social security increases were significant and positive in the choice and outcome models. On the other hand, increases in social assistance had a negative effect on the choice model and a positive effect on the outcome model. In addition, the statistically significant positive results for technology and income inadequacy indicate the existence of different types of social preference. Thus, these findings can be accepted as indicators of irrational behavior patterns. Jel Code: D64, D90, H53
