Abstract

Background: This study explores the question: Does enhancing Mental Quotient (MQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), and Spiritual Quotient (SQ) collectively, impact the Quality of Life (QOL) of adolescents and adults? It investigates this through pre and post assessments, and a structured six-step intervention program developed by the author. The research seeks to fill gaps in conventional therapeutic approaches by offering a holistic, integrative model, originally grounded in qualitative research and reflective practice conducted by the author since 1991, and further validated through this four and half years of quantitative research and analysis. This study falls within the domains of Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Health Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, as well as Social, Organizational, and Cultural Psychology, reflecting its interdisciplinary relevance and application. Methods : A quantitative survey design with pre and post intervention assessments was employed. 200 university students were randomly selected and divided into experimental (Group A) and control (Group B) groups. Standardized tests from the National Psychological Corporation established benchmarks for MQ, EQ, SQ, and QOL. The experimental group completed a 30-hour intervention program in six sessions. Statistical analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics included descriptive statistics and three-way ANOVA. Results: The experimental group showed significant improvements in EQ and SQ scores, supporting research on the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and spiritual intelligence in enhancing well-being. The study demonstrated that enhancing mental, emotional and spiritual quotient improves QOL for adolescents and adults, with females showing the greatest benefit. Conclusions: These findings contribute to holistic approaches to mental health, with implications for educational curricula and training programs. This intervention methodology proved effective in improving participants' ability to manage life challenges, highlighting the importance of integrating mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects in enhancing overall quality of life.
