Abstract

In this work, we investigate the effect of laser linewidth and detector bandwidth on signal behavior using the powerful balanced homodyne technique. We analyze the impact of these parameters on signal distortion as well as random number generation. Our simulation results highlight the importance of careful selection of laser linewidth and detector bandwidth for optimal signal performance. These findings have practical implications for a wide range of applications, including quantum random number generation, telecommunications, radar systems, and optical sensing.
