Aim The aim of this study is to adapt the “Student Survey on Writing Nursing Care Plans,” developed to evaluate nursing students’ attitudes towards the process of writing nursing care plans, into Turkish and to examine its validity and reliability characteristics. Background Identifying the challenges that students encounter during the process of writing nursing care plans will provide guidance for developing new approaches aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice in nursing education. Method This methodological study was conducted between 14 and 25 April 2025 with 362 students enrolled in the faculty of nursing at a university. The scale was evaluated through language validity, content validity, construct validity, and internal consistency analyses. Content validity was assessed using the Davis Technique, and construct validity was tested through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Results According to the CFA results, the model’s fit indices were within acceptable levels. The factor loadings of all items ranged between .658 and .906. The internal consistency of the scale was found to be very high. The item-total correlation coefficients ranged from .656 to .894, indicating that all items measured in a manner consistent with the overall scale. Conclusion The findings indicate that the Turkish version of the “Student Survey on Writing Nursing Care Plans” is a valid and reliable measurement tool. The scale is recommended as a suitable instrument for evaluating nursing students’ care plan development skills within the nursing education process. Implications for Nursing Education and Practice: The Turkish version of the “Student Survey on Writing Nursing Care Plans” is a valid and reliable tool for evaluating nursing students’ skills in writing care plans. It helps identify areas where students struggle particularly in planning and evaluation and supports the development of targeted educational strategies.
