Smart home automation has significantly advanced with the integration of Inter- net of Things (IoT) technologies, enabling users to control electronic appliances remotely with high efficiency and convenience. However, the growing dependence on IoT systems introduces critical vulnerabilities, particularly when connectiv- ity or device failures occur. This paper presents a robust and intelligent control system for smart home devices that ensures continuous operation even in the event of IoT failures. The proposed system features a dual-mode control mecha- nism?automatic control via IoT and manual override through a traditional switch interface?allowing seamless transition between modes. Additionally, it incorpo- rates failure detection components to monitor system health and trigger fallback operations as needed. By combining reliability, fault tolerance, and user-centric design, this approach addresses common weaknesses in existing smart home archi- tectures. The study emphasizes resilience and adaptability as key components in the next generation of smart home solutions.
