Abstract

In the context of current global commitment towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, understanding the interconnections between various indicators is essential for optimizing policies and interventions. A recent study about poverty and inequalities in Italy analyzed the dependent relationships among various highly correlated indicators related to different Agenda 2030 goals, identifying suitable regression models to address the multicollinearity issue. Drawing from this study, the aim now is to expand the regression analysis to the European context by considering international indicators across European countries and exploring different models. Our findings provide crucial insights for policymakers and contribute to a more integrated understanding of sustainable development dynamics within the European context. This study offers an innovative contribution to the existing literature by proposing a methodological approach for analyzing the dependent relationships between poverty, inequalities, and various Sustainable Development Goal indicators, offering practical recommendations for improving sustainable development policies.
