Through the emergence of technology, artificial intelligence programs have become prevalent among students. Artificial intelligence programs, specifically chatbots, have gained popularity among students for their ease of use and for their ever-growing capabilities. This has posed an interesting question for educators. Are students using artificial intelligence programs in an ethical manner to complete assignments? Are students at the 8th grade level using artificial intelligence programs such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot in an ethical manner to write essays or complete classwork/homework? This research study will be held at a school District named Excellence in Leadership Academy in Mission, Texas. Five hundred students will participate in this research study.
