Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Tion-Emo therapy and technique (TET) in treating depression and anxiety. It utilized a quasi-experimental research design of a pre-post nature with a control and experimental group. Nineteen participants were assigned to either the experimental group (n = 11) or the control group (n = 8). They were asked to complete the Beck Anxiety Inventory and Beck Depression Inventory-II. The experimental group, that received TET, answered an additional questionnaire evaluating the effectiveness of TET using a Likert scale ranging from 0 (not at all) to 10 (completely). The experimental group had lower anxiety and depression scores than the control group (p = .001). Further, the experimental group’s post-test scores were significantly less than their pre-test scores for both anxiety and depression (p = .001). In the TET questionnaire, participants’ mean score regarding the existence of core emotion was 9.8, whereas their mean scores for TET helping regulate their anxiety and depression were 9.2 and 9, respectively. These results demonstrate the potential of TET as a promising treatment for depression and anxiety—diagnoses that affect millions of people worldwide. The emotion system needs its own logic. This study is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (ID: NCT06950970). The unique protocol ID assigned to this trial is TET Institute. registry retrospective 04/27/2025
