Abstract

Introduction : In the current context, the use of technologies such as ChatGPT in health education represents a burgeoning research domain. Integrating ChatGPT into simulation scenarios offers a unique opportunity to enhance traditional teaching methods by providing instant access to a vast repository of medical knowledge. Aim : To evaluate the impact of integrating ChatGPT on the clinical skills of nursing students in a simulation-based learning environment. Methodology : This study employs a structured protocol comprising simulation-based training sessions, pre- and post-intervention assessments, and opinion questionnaires to gather students' perceptions of ChatGPT usage. Participants are evaluated on their clinical skills, including recognition of signs and symptoms, decision-making, and team coordination, before and after ChatGPT integration. Results : Preliminary results indicate significant improvements in participants' clinical skills after using ChatGPT. A 50% increase in recognition of critical signs and symptoms, along with a 60% improvement in clinical decision-making, was observed. Additionally, participants expressed high satisfaction with the utility of ChatGPT and their intention to use it in the future. Conclusion : The integration of ChatGPT in nursing education offers significant benefits by enhancing students' clinical skills and fostering better decision-making. These findings underscore the importance of further research in this area and exploring additional applications of AI to enhance health education.
