As the reach of the Internet and digital technology grows worldwide, we are alarmed by an alarming increase in online threats like cyberstalking and victimization. The emergence of technology-fueled communication platforms, notably social media, has exacerbated the frequency of cyberstalking incidents. Though a relatively new area of academic inquiry, it has raised significant concern globally. Today’s communication tools make it easier to commit such crimes, thereby deteriorating the conditions for victims of cyberstalking. This research endeavors to uncover the foundational causes of cyberstalking. A comprehensive analysis of existing literature on the subject has been conducted, examining connected themes such as stalking, cyber victimization, and harassment. Insights from the articles reviewed emphasize the severe issues confronted by victims of cyberstalking. This work delves deeply into significant studies on this essential matter. A meticulous meta-analysis of English publications from 2000 to 2023 has been executed. Through a meta-analytic approach, this study assesses effect sizes, potentially shedding light on future inquiries into the prevalence of cyberstalking victims. The results propose a structure for ongoing academic investigation, aimed at supporting researchers engaged in the study of cyberstalking. Consequently, this study champions the establishment of effective strategies to confront and mitigate the repercussions of cyberstalking.
