The Intersection of FinTech and Investment Strategies: A Bibliometric Review

Fintech (Financial Technology) has gained significant relevance in academic research due to its impact on financial markets, institutions, and consumer behavior. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify patterns and trends focusing on citation, co-authorship, and co-occurrence. This study can be considered as the first study to utilize a bibliometric method to address this research gap, identifying the top documents, journals, and most importantly, the future research areas identified through the thematic map analysis of keywords. Citation and co-citation network analysis highlight key contributors and collaborations. Using Scopus data from top finance and economics journals, 324 articles were selected from an initial 1187 based on "Financial Technology" as the main keyword. The study emphasizes FinTech's transformative role in financial institutions, its rapid growth, and its adoption by users and providers. It identifies research gaps and emerging themes, contributing to the evolving understanding of FinTech's impact.
