Abstract

Covid-19 infection can show various symptoms on humans both in the acute period and in the post-covid period. Case reports with long-term follow-up are very important for the treatment of rare and surprising symptoms observed and for the management of the disease. The suppression of the immune system by covid-19 infection, the formation of endothelitis due to endothelial damage, and the use of drugs such as corticosteroids used during treatment may cause complications in the post covid period. Rehabilitation of defects in the maxillofacial region due to various causes can be closed surgically. However, rehabilitation is possible with obturator prostheses in patients with large defects or high probability of tumour recurrence and in cases where the prognosis is uncertain. In this case report, the surgical-prosthetic rehabilitation and 3-year follow-up of a patient intubated due to covid-19 in which a large part of the maxilla was necrosed in the post covid period will be presented.
