Abstract

This paper presents a CUDA-accelerated Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm tailored for blockchain applications in the healthcare sector, particularly targeting city-based deployments where the integrity and speed of accessing medical records are paramount. Blockchain's role in securing sensitive patient data across urban hospital networks and municipal healthcare providers is increasingly critical, but traditional PoW mechanisms impose significant computational overhead, limiting practical scalability. By leveraging the parallel processing power of modern GPUs via NVIDIA's CUDA architecture, we achieve substantial performance improvements suitable for real-time medical data management in cities like Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Mumbai. We validate our approach through experiments on healthcare-related blockchain simulations, demonstrating its viability for scalable, secure, and urban-friendly medical data management frameworks.
