Abstract

Introduction : Cervical carcinoma remains a significant global health concern. This study aims to analyze the demographic characteristics, clinical presentations, and pathological subtypes of cervical carcinoma cases in a maternity hospital in Kuwait. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on cervical carcinoma cases diagnosed between 2015-2024. Patient demographics, clinical presentations, and histopathological findings were analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed to identify associations between variables. Results : The study included 231 patients. The majority were from the Philippines (n=65), followed by India (n=54) and Kuwait (n=54), with ages ranging from 24 to 84 years. The predominant clinical presentation was cervical mass (76.62%), followed by erosion (2.6%) and suspicious cervix (2.16%). Histopathologically, keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma was the most common subtype (58.44%), followed by non-keratinizing (29.87%) and papillary variants (7.79%). No significant association was found between pathologic subtypes and age or nationality (p>0.05). Conclusion : Our findings demonstrate a higher prevalence of cervical carcinoma among Filipino and Indian expatriates in Kuwait. The predominance of keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma and presentation as cervical mass align with global patterns. These findings emphasize the importance of targeted screening programs for expatriate populations in Kuwait.
